Lipstick Jungle

How is it that whenever I clean out my handbag there are always no less than 5 lipsticks rolling around the bottom the bag. Don't even get me started on how many lip-glosses I have in there! No wonder it weighs so much :) & here's the kicker...I never ever have any on! (& by never ever I mean 95% of the time & if I managed to put some on it never gets reapplied once I leave the house)

Why do we do this?
(yes, I said we, I'm not alone in this right!?!)

Would you be more apt to reapply
if you had this handy dandy lipstick holder??

I'm purging my lipsticks & thus their vintage accessories as well. I decided that since I can't actually remember the last time I purchased a lipstick...well, the lipsticks in my handbag must be vintage too & that my dearest birds is disgusting! What's the longest you've held onto a lipstick? Come on be honest!!! 1 year, 3? I found a MAC lipstick I purchased when I lived in Brooklyn...10 yrs ago! OMG! hahaha :)

They are all up for grabs in my vintage shop which I am slowly updating after a hiatus of months now! My thrifting finds are getting out of control & it's high time I give back!

The boy had his last official day of 2cd grade on Tues.
Tuesday, the same day the AC died in our house!
I'm perspiring* all over my keyboard as I type this
upstairs where it is no less than 85 degrees :(
& grand start to summer vacation!

What were you birds up to this weekend?
I watched Avatar (finally) & was really moved by it's beauty & the amazing imagination behind all the background & creatures! Should have seen it on the big screen! We watched up until the last big fight scene & The Boy looks over at me & goes "this movie is a little violent huh!" :) After watching 2hrs of fighting he decides it's a little violent...hahaha!

I managed to clear off the desk & was busy making jewelry into the wee hours of the morning last night so I predict a shop update in the very near future!

Best Friends Forever

What in the world am I going to do with myself
now that my BF has gone back home??

I probably should clean the place up but I was already forced to dust once this week (haha) & we did straighten things as we redecorated my place with the scores from our week of thrifting!

This drapery is from the '70's...
(I feel like a fairy princess sleeping here now!)

I scored these 1960's curtains at a going out of business sale..
(pretty sure my mom used to have a sheet set in this same print!)

We spent most the week shopping, cooking, redecorating my townhouse & laughing our butts off. We've know each other for 15'ish years now & it's soo nice to be around someone who truly knows you & your past. Who gets the inside jokes & isn't afraid to tell you the truth & who will dance party with you in the kitchen while making dinner :)


The night before she went home I was tucking The Boy in bed & he says "I'm going to miss Aunt Yvette. I call her Vet for short because it's a nickname & she's a veterinarian." Umm...no son, no she's not {giggle} "Oh, well I'm still going to call her that!" :)

I got the pleasure of revamping her grandmother's jewelry while she was in town! I had soo much fun & I am soo happy with how it all turned out!

Are you dying over this bird coin!?! It's a Farthing! There will be some baubles up for sale with them as she left some for me. I rather like this style of bracelet I made & need to make some for the shop I think. What do you think?
