Bday Bonanza

Happy Belated Birthday to me :)

I had some of my crafty girlfriends over last night
to help me celebrate my 33rd year of life!

In lieu of gifts I asked them each to bring fabric scraps & buttons & doodads. They brought tons of fun stuff & I had them each make me a fabric triangle (or 2 or 3) & embellish it. Jamie sewed them all together connecting them with vintage '60's pom pom trim & I hung the garland over my studio window! Soo much fun! I think we're instating a once a month craft night!

1. Birthday Garland, 2. Birthday Garland, 3. Birthday Garland, 4. Birthday Garland, 5. Xmas Garland, 6. Crafter, 7. Vintage thread, 8. Bday Cupcakes, 9. IButerfly contender, 10. Banner in the making, 11. Toucan, 12. The Good GIrl & the Revamper

My mom made caramel frosted cupcakes & homemade fudge (yumz!), Jamie made guacamole & the cranberry thumbprints that I had made for her before. Add to that some vino & a grapefruit vodka concoction my friend the ex-nun made & we were having a grand 'ol time!
I even squeezed in a trip to Anthro before the festivities! Best Birthday ever :)

Best quotes of the night:
"I went with quantity over quality", "tell us Johanna's birth story...no, not HOW she was conceived...{sheesh} ", "your cheese is stinky but it's a good stink!", "these cookies are like crack but legal & with cranberries!", "I'm not picking a crafty winner but if I was, you'd sooo win!"

Thanks for all your birthday wishes! I'm hoping to pop in tomorrow with some pics of my treasure hunting finds from a quick trip to the coast! My dining room table is covered with jewelry as I type this :) Here's a sneak peek of a very special treasure....

A Fashion Academy Gold Medal charm
Circa 1950!

I also picked up this cutie as an early
bday present to myself for $4!
S & P shakers...adorable!

Did you all have a very merry Christmas? Did santa bring you your heats desire? I certainly hope so! Santa (mom & dad) brought me a vintage celluloid 1800's collar box full of vintage & antique collars! Pictures coming! What did you get for being such a good girl ??

XoXo's
Johanna

I'm sorry I missed your birthday - Happy belated! And your party sounds like so much fun - the crafty part, the vodka part, oh, and the Anthro part :) If I ever to get to Raleigh (we have some good friends there) we'll have to meet up! So fun to meet other Etsy people:)
